For more than 20 years, Lauren has walked alongside children, families, and ministry leaders, helping them build strong, faith-filled foundations. She holds a degree in Elementary and Special Education and a Master’s in Family and Special Needs Ministry. Called into ministry at a young age, Lauren has spent two decades turning her passion for the next generation into practical, gospel-centered leadership. As a wife, mom, and ministry leader, Lauren brings both professional expertise and authentic perspective to every conversation.

Lauren is passionate about helping children grow in their love and knowledge of God and equipping parents and ministry leaders to confidently disciple children at home and in the church. She serves as a Navigator for Replicate, training church leaders in family discipleship, and on the National Lifeway VBS team, where she helps leaders create intentional, gospel-centered ministry environments.

In addition to her role as Children and Family Minister at Brookwood Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA, Lauren leads breakout sessions across the U.S. for weekday preschools, family ministry teams, and preschool and children’s ministries, blending practical strategies, biblical foundations, and real-life experience. Her teaching style is engaging, relatable, and deeply rooted in a love for children and the leaders who serve them.

Lauren and her husband, Huey, have been married for 22 years and are raising three teenagers — Gordon, Jack, and Kate.

I had the honor of having Lauren as a graduate student at Dallas Baptist University. Beyond the classroom, she relates easily to people and creates meaningful connections with people quickly. Her experience in the local church, combined with her education and personality makes her a thought leader in family ministry.

Lauren's knowledge in all things Children's Ministry is unsurpassed. When matched with her ability to communicate information in an engaging manner, she's an invaluable asset to any church that would partner with her to reach children and their families through a unified ministry. She is passionate about what God has called her to do and is humble in her approach to partnering with every church no matter their size or context.

It was an absolute joy having Lauren train our kids ministry leaders! She came incredibly prepared, communicated with clarity and warmth, and collaborated with such ease that the entire experience felt seamless. The topics she shared were both biblically grounded and practical, with hands-on instruction our leaders could immediately apply.
